Westchester County resident Raymond Yancey, of Yonkers, claimed a $5 million top prize from the Cash Royale scratch-off game, lottery officials just announced.
The winning ticket was bought in White Plains at the ShopRite supermarket located at 29 Mamaroneck Ave., officials added.
Instead of going for a lump sum payment, Yancey instead decided to receive his prize in the form of 20 annuitized payments of $158,186 each after required withholdings.
If you're hoping to also suddenly find yourself a multi-millionaire, there are still two top prizes remaining on the $5 million Cash Royale ticket, officials said.
Lottery officials also said lucky winners like Yancey aren't the only ones benefitting, as Westchester school districts have received nearly $155 million in Lottery Aid to Education funds out of the more than $4.4 billion in total scratch-off sales generated during the 2022-2023 fiscal year.
